Grass time

Adios nasty tree. I was impressed by how high the brush collection pile got. These city guys don't mess around.

We had a chance to clean up the yard now that all the tree bits were gone. We also planted a little line of rosemary and some grasses to block Barley's pee zone.

Only sad thing is the full view of our neighbor's junk yard. It will surely inspire us to put up a privacy fence faster. I also want to do something creative with the new tree stump. I think we'll take a few feet off and use some large colorful planters to make something more visually appealing.

Ian also bought some buffalo grass seeds, so that will be our next project. He's ready to plant them now but I'm thinking we should wait until we're back from vacation since we'll have to water them daily.

Chainsaw Massacre

We're planning to build a privacy fence and plant some grass later this spring. We have a bunch of trash trees growing through the chain length fence as well as one large one in the middle of the yard that looks worse with each passing season. So this Sunday Bob & Ian tackled the large tree. Next will come the smaller baby trees that are growing through the fence.

Ian with a chainsaw. Scaaarry!

Ian high up in a tree. Even scaaarrier. At this point I couldn't watch anymore and had to go inside.

Barley realized a life long dream considering chewing on/eating/dragging around sticks is his favorite activity.

Wow, the yard is really opening up.

Bob and Barley inspect the stump.
